Hi Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Sue and I live with my lovely husband who I will call Mr V and our nine year old daughter Miss V in a small town in South Devon. Everyone who lives here talks about it as The Village so that will be my blog name- Vintage fron the Village Also in our family are two cats, two guinea pigs some tropical fish and a pond with goldfish I have always loved making things and love pretty vintage things which I hope to sell as well to fund my passion! I am addicted to buying fabric, ribbons, buttons, wool etc and love to visit charity shops and car boot sales.I love glasses of wine, gardening, crochet (easy stuff!) and I am a big E-Bay fan ! I also love to read other people's blogs which inspired me to start my own. I look foward to hearing from you Best wishes Sue

A slippery dilemma !

Well Hello again

Where did that week go?

Last Friday it was a non pupil day at Miss V's school and as I now work there very part time too , I had a day off as well. MR V also took the day off and off we went up to North Devon to see Mum in law for the day.

Now she is the world biggest car boot fan and has saved us hundreds of pounds over the year. She only buys things that are brand new or in mint condition and decent brands.
Lucky for her the sales up there start at civilised times of the day not in the middle of the night almost like around here.
She also pays £5 to get in as a seller and gets all the bargains even before the public are allowed in !

Anyway, she asked me if I needed a new pair of slippers by any chance so I said  yes please  and a huge carrier bag apperared with about twenty pairs of pink size 7 slippers in ....

I chose a few pairs (well 6 actually) which will last me years ! (see above)
All brand new with the tags and labels on including some per una ones  IDEAL

I will be off in a minute to choose a pair to take out with me to Come Dine With Me
Thats my ideal night out these days where you are welcome to bring your slippers he he !

Before I go, here a few things I am about to list  here
on Ebay hopefully any day now

Have a great weekend and will be back next week with a story about my vintage candy stripe sheet aquisitions (bet you cant wait !)

Sue x

  1. That's an impressive collection of slippers, Sue. Am glad your MIL lives in North Devon, rather than in Newton Abbot - wouldn't want to face off against her for bargains at the local car boot - sounds like she's a bit of an expert! x

  2. Those slippers are amazing. And I love that you are going somewhere where you can take a pair! I, for one, am very excited to hear your story about candy stripe sheets - I'm a big fan of candy stripe!
