Hi Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Sue and I live with my lovely husband who I will call Mr V and our nine year old daughter Miss V in a small town in South Devon. Everyone who lives here talks about it as The Village so that will be my blog name- Vintage fron the Village Also in our family are two cats, two guinea pigs some tropical fish and a pond with goldfish I have always loved making things and love pretty vintage things which I hope to sell as well to fund my passion! I am addicted to buying fabric, ribbons, buttons, wool etc and love to visit charity shops and car boot sales.I love glasses of wine, gardening, crochet (easy stuff!) and I am a big E-Bay fan ! I also love to read other people's blogs which inspired me to start my own. I look foward to hearing from you Best wishes Sue

Back again !

Hi Everyone and Happy New Year !
Sorry I havn't written since before Christmas, the time has just flown. I have been reading plenty of blogs but just not got round to writing one

Anyway - we had a great Christmas, we did have some snow and for a few days it was touch and go whether we would be able to travel up to North Devon for the day for Chritmas lunch. All was fine on the day though and the roads were ok. The winter wonderland scenery on the journey was fantastic. We were treated to a lovely Christmas lunch at a hotel, presents with a drink in the hotel lounge then home by early evening - perfect

We bought  a new camera in the sales so I havn't got many photos for this post as am in a bit of a muddle between the two cameras at the moment. The one photo above is myself and Miss V on Wembury beach on Sunday. I had my big scarf over my head to keep the wind off but it was lovely. We took a flask and some cake but the lure of bacon baps from the National Trust cafe on the beach was too great so that was lunch sorted

Sad its all over now, almost two weeks of all being together, lazy mornings with cups of tea in bed everyday and not feeling guilty sitting down for an hour during the day with my crochet and something naughty to eat

All back to school and work today - I am still meal time assistant at the school but now one to one with a boy with health problems.
Will be a learning curve as I was working in an office for 20 + years. Looking foward to it though as regular money, only 2 hours a day so I can still do my beloved Ebay and all the school holidays off - perfect !
Need to stick with it anyway as we have just spoken for a new car ( not brand new but new to us!)

Hoping you all have a brilliant new year

Sue x

  1. Happy New Year, Sue. I know what you mean, first day back to work for me too and it's been such a long while that I could barely remember what I do for a job!

  2. Happy New Year and welcome back Sue, you have been missed. Glad you enjoyed your Christmas, it sounds like you all had a lovely time. Best of luck with the new role, I'm sure you will do great. I look forward to hearing more from you through 2011 :) xxx

  3. Sounds like you are going to be a very busy lady this year...keep you out of mischief perhaps!
I still cannot get used to the beach in the UK in winter it's absolutely freezing for my little fingers, nose and toes. Nothing can keep me that warm!

  4. Good luck with the job - you'll soon get the hang of it.
I wnet to Wembury for a family holiday when I was about 12. A lovely place.

  5. Happy New Year!

New job sounds interesting - good luck!

Your day at the beach sounds lovely. I know what you mean about feeling sad that the holiday is over, its so lovely tootling round with family, back to work is a bit of a shock!

    megan xx
