Hi Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Sue and I live with my lovely husband who I will call Mr V and our nine year old daughter Miss V in a small town in South Devon. Everyone who lives here talks about it as The Village so that will be my blog name- Vintage fron the Village Also in our family are two cats, two guinea pigs some tropical fish and a pond with goldfish I have always loved making things and love pretty vintage things which I hope to sell as well to fund my passion! I am addicted to buying fabric, ribbons, buttons, wool etc and love to visit charity shops and car boot sales.I love glasses of wine, gardening, crochet (easy stuff!) and I am a big E-Bay fan ! I also love to read other people's blogs which inspired me to start my own. I look foward to hearing from you Best wishes Sue

Hello again
Sorry about my mysterious textless post the other day -
I had just written a post with lots of lovely photos about the 'Thank you Teacher' lavender bags I have been making - I clicked on Preview and the whole lot dissapeared :(
I am having trouble with this new blogger thing and wish it hadnt changed
Anyway here are some pictures of just a few of them I have for sales over on my Ebay (see link on my sidebar or search seller Stirfry148) or please do message me.

Twit from the village here !

Hello again

I am still here but almost a month has gone by again.
I am still reading blogs and keep on thinking of things to post about but never seem to remember to bring my phone upstairs which I take most of my 'out and about' photos on.
I must get them uploaded onto the computer. I am also a bit worried about the new blogger, it seems so hard compared to the old version so wish me luck !

As you can see (hopefully!) from my side bar I am now on Twitter so pop on over and follow me or whatever you do on Twitter !!
Vintage from the Village was too long so i am VintageVillager
I will keep this short in case it doesn't work but hopefully I will now show you a couple of fabrics I have just listed on Ebay

Gone dotty !

 Hello again

Where did half term go ? I could do with another week off on my own to get straight but never mind, we had a good week

Where did we go?

well we went to stay with some friends in Staffordshire and had a lovely afternoon in Stoke on Trent at the Emma Bridgewater factory
The men went off to some aeroplane museum !
We didn't have time for a factory tour but plenty of time for the girls to do some pottery painting and large slices of cake and coffee all served on dotty china in the lovely cafe area whre there was this fantastic cooker, I wish it was mine but sadly no....

They had a lovely factory shop where Mr V said I could choose something for my birthday next month. I havn't unpacked the bag yet so I will show you another time.
I have to look foward to a jug in the classic spot pattern
For mum in laws Birhday I bought a jug and plate in the pink heart pattern and as I spent a certain amount (not mentioned in case Mr V is reading!) there was a free mug thrown in !!

I fancied the oilcoth table covering but it was £25 per metre and as I would need two metres probably I thought I had better not  !

What a lovely day, we are looking foward to the parcel arriving with Miss V's plate and cup and saucer

Have  a good week

Happy new year .... at last !

Well Hello at last and a belated Happy New Year !
It's almost February already and I have been neglecting blog writing but still reading them most days. Anyway must try harder this year !

At the end of the Christmas holidays we had a few hours on one of our lovely local beaches Bigbury  in South Devon.
It was very windy and cold but it blew the cobwebs away and we sat in the car after with a lovely hot chocolate

I went for a paddle in my wellies

Back home for a cup of tea and something tasty from the new set of tins I had for Christmas
I love these tins and saw them in the autumn so put them on my Christmas list
I sneakily bought Miss V to give to Mr V another lovely Emma Bridgewater mug for our collection. They are quite expensive to buy for no reason so this is my sneaky way of getting them! he he
We are going to the Emma Bridgewater pottery painting centre soon and I hope there will be a shop there as I still have a little bit of Christmas money left to spend

Well I am going to have to go as Miss V will be home from school in a minute and it is hammering down with hail or sleet or something out there.

I will put the heating and candles on and look foward to a cosy Friday night with curry and wine later mmmm

Have a great weekend
Sue x
