Hi Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Sue and I live with my lovely husband who I will call Mr V and our nine year old daughter Miss V in a small town in South Devon. Everyone who lives here talks about it as The Village so that will be my blog name- Vintage fron the Village Also in our family are two cats, two guinea pigs some tropical fish and a pond with goldfish I have always loved making things and love pretty vintage things which I hope to sell as well to fund my passion! I am addicted to buying fabric, ribbons, buttons, wool etc and love to visit charity shops and car boot sales.I love glasses of wine, gardening, crochet (easy stuff!) and I am a big E-Bay fan ! I also love to read other people's blogs which inspired me to start my own. I look foward to hearing from you Best wishes Sue

So very Cath dont you think ?

Hi again
Hope you are all having a good week. I am, it was my birthday on Monday.

Not the best day of the week to have one but we had a good weekend to start it off. On the Saturday we went for a meal at a lovely country pub - The First and Last Bistro in a small village near here called Ermington.
I love it there and it was even better as I won a voucher for £45 at our dentist so we only had to pay for the wine !
You would love it, it has a huge inglenook fireplace and fabric hearts and chickens hanging up and pots of spring flowers in the porch.
It was too busy to take photos inside (or I was too shy) and I have no flash on my phone so couldn't take one outside either.

Anyway on Sunday we went to Wembury beach. Miss V even went in the sea with no wetsuit on. Mr V and I tried to paddle but it was sooooooo cold in there.

On the Monday we went to Ashburton for a coffee and look around the shops but I had to get back for work and all the shops were still closed. Never mind.

Anyway back to the Cath like find

An unused vintage toiletries travel case - isnt it lovely
find it here http://shop.ebay.co.uk/Stirfry148/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1 if you want it !
Oh no I have run out of time. need to get changed for work.

Back later hopefully with a giveaway

Me in my facintator !

A pretty bad photo or perhaps I just look pretty bad !?

Anyway here I am. Not done a post for a while again, been really busy. Did some extra hours at the school this week and a family wedding last weekend. The photos were all taken up on Plymouth Hoe in that glorious sunshine. What a lovely day we had.

Still Ebaying like mad and today I have been to Westpoint in Exeter to the Quilting show and had a little spending spree on fabric. I still have hardly touched the stash I bought last year but so what ey !
I saved the money I took at my last craft fair so I dont feel too guilty. The credit card only got one airing !

I will be back next week with a birthday giveaway. It will be my birthday on Monday and it must be about my blog's first birthday too !

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Look what you could have won !

Hello again

Guess what - I was lucky enough to be the giveaway winner from the lovely Gemma at
Dreams of a life in the country
For a change I heard the parcel postman ring the bell and flew down the stairs to answer before he sped off again leaving one of those red cards. I am sure if you dont answer in five seconds they go again.

Anyway look what was inside .....

A pretty dotty mug
Lots of reels of thread and sewing bits and bobs
Some lovely rose tissues
A ball of pink wool (am making some more granny squares and was thinking the other day I could do with some more pink ones - spooky!)
A little purple badge
and last but not least a great note book
all presented in a pretty box with green foam chippings just like a little hamper of goodies

Thanks Gemma

Do pop over and have a look at her great blog

Back again, I had a bit more luck with uploading the photos today

Anyway, spring seems to have sprung here in Devon. My daffodils have been out for about two weeks now and still going strong. The chickens dont seem to touch them for some reason which is great !

Below is the lovely modern but vintage looking wire holder full of pots, I forgot to take a pic while it was looking its best full of snowdrops and crocuses but hopefully you get the idea ?
I think I might put herbs in for the summer to brighten up my cheapo plastic green garden table.

Also last week I bought two posh looking brown paper bags with seeds compost and pots in ..
only £1 each from our weekly market (which is rubbish really and only has about six stalls)
Bargain I think, they have now been planted up  tomatoes and courgettes. So watch this space.
I just stayed on after my little school job today to help the children plant pots of runner beans and sunflowers so I'm having a very green fingered week.

I must go now and collect Miss V
I will be back soon to tell you about my luck as the winner of a giveaway from the lovely
Gemma at Dreams of a life in the country

Have a great evening

Happy pancake day and other bits

Well Hello again

Hope you are all full of pancakes - we are. I heard a programme on the radio in the car this morning saying how good lemons are for you in so many ways so I had extra lemon on mine and even the zest ! then I drank the leftover juice in some hot water , was nicer than I thought actually

Anyway spring seems to have sprung since I last wrote, daffodils everywhere
I am trying to upload some photos but it's playing up so I will be back tomorrow to try again ggggrrrr

Enjoy the rest of your evening
