Hi Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Sue and I live with my lovely husband who I will call Mr V and our nine year old daughter Miss V in a small town in South Devon. Everyone who lives here talks about it as The Village so that will be my blog name- Vintage fron the Village Also in our family are two cats, two guinea pigs some tropical fish and a pond with goldfish I have always loved making things and love pretty vintage things which I hope to sell as well to fund my passion! I am addicted to buying fabric, ribbons, buttons, wool etc and love to visit charity shops and car boot sales.I love glasses of wine, gardening, crochet (easy stuff!) and I am a big E-Bay fan ! I also love to read other people's blogs which inspired me to start my own. I look foward to hearing from you Best wishes Sue

School fair and donkey fair

Hiya
I hope the sun is still shining wherever you are !
Last Friday I had a table at Miss V's school football tournament. It was run by the PTA of which I am a member but I abandoned helping for my own gains ! I sold lots of little lavender bags but not much else. Was very nice though and lots of little girls happily went home with their purchases.

Above is a picture of a cushion I made from a vintage tray cloth. I made a dotty backing, embroidered the word Welcome and edged down the short sides with white bobbles.
I might make some more of these, I thought it would look good on a guest bed somewhere.

On Saturday there was a summer fair at our local donkey sanctuary so I was up and waiting to go in at 10am to raid the bric a brac stall !

I was quite pleased, the duck tea pot is a bit of a gamble but somebody might be looking for
one !! I put it on Mr V's chest of drawers for a laugh
I heard those wooden antelope things are coming back in to fashion ?

I also got 2 leather shoulder bags, some jewellery, an old tin
a ladybird book, a red glass ornament,a vintage needle book,
and some books so I was quite pleased.

Well I better go and get some tea sorted I suppose. Talking of tea,  I have listed some vintage tea pot covers on Ebay yeterday and have taken photos of my big stash of crochet patterns ready to go on asap
Have a great week, cant believe the longest day has gone already ! :(
Best wishes
Sue x

  2. What a good use for a vintage tray cloth - I am always seeing these in charity shops for next to nothing.

  3. What a lovely cushion. If I had it I would sit it on the little bench by our front door.
