Hi All,
Is the weekend over already? We had quite a busy one but very nice. Not a cloud in the sky again !
On Friday I made a cushion with horses on for friend of Miss V's who had a birthday sleepover party.
So, having a child free evening, Mr V and myself wandered down to our local Indian restaurant. It is the only proper restaurant apart from pubs in the 'village' and very nice it is too.
It is our wedding anniversary tomorrow, 9 years but Mr V has had to go away on a work course all week boo hoo :( typical as he very rarely goes away. Never mind ey
On Saturday we didnt do much, just sat around in the garden and pottering around.
Yesterday we woke up to find one of our pet chickens had died in the night, we had sort of been expecting it as she hadn't been right all week. Still rather sad though. She has been with us just over a year though and had a great life in our garden I hope as she was an ex-battery rescue hen. Still have three more though.
Then we went off to the beach at Seaton in Cornwall , we used to go to this beach all the time when I was a child. We met up with my Mum, both my sisters and my brother in law to be and my 2 nieces.
We took Mr V's kayak and had a great time, we didn't stay all day as we wanted to see the football. ( Dont usually watch it, but it was England !) anyway, wish we had stayed at the beach !!! then we had roast beef a bottle of red wine mmm a nice ending to the weekend.
As you may have noticed, I have set up a Vintage from the Village Facebook. I better just check the link works. Please feel free to be 'my friend' if you are in to all that
Right then, it must be time for a coffee and I want to order one or two bits from the Cath Kidston sale. I have had my eye on the boat bath mat for a while and its now reduced !
Have a good week
Sue xx

Hi Sue!
ReplyDeleteBarkcloth is quite tricky to describe! Other than it has a grainy, bark like texture! I think it's from the 50's/60's, and you often find it used for curtains. Hope that helps!! I f not I'll have to send you a sample!

Just found your lovely blog and not far away from me ... Kieren
