Hi Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Sue and I live with my lovely husband who I will call Mr V and our nine year old daughter Miss V in a small town in South Devon. Everyone who lives here talks about it as The Village so that will be my blog name- Vintage fron the Village Also in our family are two cats, two guinea pigs some tropical fish and a pond with goldfish I have always loved making things and love pretty vintage things which I hope to sell as well to fund my passion! I am addicted to buying fabric, ribbons, buttons, wool etc and love to visit charity shops and car boot sales.I love glasses of wine, gardening, crochet (easy stuff!) and I am a big E-Bay fan ! I also love to read other people's blogs which inspired me to start my own. I look foward to hearing from you Best wishes Sue

Come dine with who ?

Hi again
What a lovely sunny weekend that was !
On Friday I had 6 of my friends from where I used to work to my house for  ' Come dine with me'
I expect you have seen the television programme.
Every couple of months or so, seven of us take turns to cook a meal for the others. We all chip in £10 towards the cost and we get a surprise three course meal and as much wine as you can drink !
I am second from the left
We have a great time and its good to catch up as two of us no longer work there and one is on maternity leave so we dont all get together very often.

Anyway I laughed today when taking some photos for Ebay of a pile of crochet patterns -
look at this !

I am sure I could come up with some more exciting dinner dates but I might be missing something ? !

Changing the subject. Miss V has come down with chicken pox !
Its good really I suppose as she is nearly eight and has escaped this long. Nothing much planned for the next week or so, so it's quite good timing I suppose. So what with this week and then it half term for almost a week and a half , I might not make much of a dent in the Ebay pile

Have a good week
Sue x

  2. MissV has done well to get to 8 without the dreaded CP. Hope she's not too bad with it. I saw a little friend today who's 5 - he is covered from head to toe :(

  4. What a fab idea - Come Dine with Me with friends, I am a huge fan, and it sounded like alot of fun. Poor Miss V, my eldest boy had chicken pox when he was just 2, and then my 2nd boy got shingles last year (he was only 1), apparently the virus from son 1 infected son 2 but didn't emerge until months later and came out as shingles! Get it out the way now I say! Have a great day, karen xx
