Hi Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Sue and I live with my lovely husband who I will call Mr V and our nine year old daughter Miss V in a small town in South Devon. Everyone who lives here talks about it as The Village so that will be my blog name- Vintage fron the Village Also in our family are two cats, two guinea pigs some tropical fish and a pond with goldfish I have always loved making things and love pretty vintage things which I hope to sell as well to fund my passion! I am addicted to buying fabric, ribbons, buttons, wool etc and love to visit charity shops and car boot sales.I love glasses of wine, gardening, crochet (easy stuff!) and I am a big E-Bay fan ! I also love to read other people's blogs which inspired me to start my own. I look foward to hearing from you Best wishes Sue

All is revealed ...... and a giveaway !

Hello again, I hope you all had a good weekend.
Yesterday we went to our local garden centre to have a Buy One Get One Free cooked breakfast which was very nice although not at all cheap buy the time we had bought drinks etc- oh well makes a change ey
Next the plan was to go down to The Barbican in Plymouth to see the Jazz and Blues music festival where there was to be a carnival etc that we thought Miss V might enjoy.
I had visions of us sat there in the sun (?) with a glass of wine at a pavement cafe ...
Somehow we ended up in Tesco instead and bought a new television??!! so that took up the rest of the afternoon as we traded in the old one and had to get it into the car and go back to Tesco again. Very nice it is too and all those Clubcard points !

Anyway I said I would show you what I was doing with the fabric strips. Above is a picture of some door hangers I have been  making. I have been making these for quite a while now normally using ribbon as the loops. This time I think the frayed edges go quite well with the frayed edges if the squares. They are stuffed with some polyester wadding and lavender
I will be listing them in my new Etsy shop when I get sorted  for £3.00 each with free postage within UK
or £2.50 to fellow bloggers, message me please if you are interested.
The sea shell ones below are the same prices

I am very pleased to see that I now have 32 followers already, thank you ever so much for following and I love reading your comments.
I think I will have my first give away, everyone who leaves a comment on this post will be entered into a hat or whatever to win a little parcel of my own creations. I look foward to hearing from you as always.

Well |I better do some housework I suppose, Miss V will be home agin before I know it.
Have a lovely evening
Sue x

  6. Your door hangers are just darling!

Thanks for your comment regarding the library--the worst day of her life, huh? Oh boy--this is what I have to look forward to I suppose!

My kids' totes are from L L Bean--very similar products to Lands End.

  9. These are lovely! Sounds like you had a good old British day out! Here in Manchester we're very fond of a run to the Tip, followed by a MacDonalds! Never let it be said that we don't know how to enjoy ourselves!! Lots of love, Amanda xxx
