Hi
Just a quick one, I bought two pillowcases recently with what I presume is Chinese or possibly Arabic embroidered writing on them
Could anyone help with translation please? presumably something like Goodnight?
They are very pretty and brand new
If anyone could help that would be great
Off now to watch Restaurant Inspector with a glass of wine and a slice of orange cake I made earlier (more about that another time)

- Hi Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Sue and I live with my lovely husband who I will call Mr V and our nine year old daughter Miss V in a small town in South Devon. Everyone who lives here talks about it as The Village so that will be my blog name- Vintage fron the Village Also in our family are two cats, two guinea pigs some tropical fish and a pond with goldfish I have always loved making things and love pretty vintage things which I hope to sell as well to fund my passion! I am addicted to buying fabric, ribbons, buttons, wool etc and love to visit charity shops and car boot sales.I love glasses of wine, gardening, crochet (easy stuff!) and I am a big E-Bay fan ! I also love to read other people's blogs which inspired me to start my own. I look foward to hearing from you Best wishes Sue
Hi Sue - Mr EM who is familiar with several oriental languages suggests this may be Indian/ sanskrit though he can't read it. Anyway certainly not Chinese/Japanese or other such eastern characters.
ReplyDeleteOrange cake, that sounds delicous xxx
ReplyDeleteOooh, what a mystery - I really want to know what it says now!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue!
ReplyDeleteJust to let you know that I have just received the crochet magazines I won on Ebay from your shop. I just adore them!! I will be leaving a superpositive feedback for you there. :)

I think one says 'not tonight darling' and the other says 'your luck's in'! :0)

Hi, sorry, I tried to leave a comment a while ago. I'm hoping things are working now!
ReplyDeleteLovely to have embroidered pillowcases.
Think it might be Sanskrit? Definitely not Chinese or Japanese (they have the same characters, the are just said differently) I really want to know what it says! x
