Hi Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Sue and I live with my lovely husband who I will call Mr V and our nine year old daughter Miss V in a small town in South Devon. Everyone who lives here talks about it as The Village so that will be my blog name- Vintage fron the Village Also in our family are two cats, two guinea pigs some tropical fish and a pond with goldfish I have always loved making things and love pretty vintage things which I hope to sell as well to fund my passion! I am addicted to buying fabric, ribbons, buttons, wool etc and love to visit charity shops and car boot sales.I love glasses of wine, gardening, crochet (easy stuff!) and I am a big E-Bay fan ! I also love to read other people's blogs which inspired me to start my own. I look foward to hearing from you Best wishes Sue

A spring in my step (sort of)

Hi all
Well the sun is shining for the second day in a row !
I feel so much keener to get things done, even feeding the chickens and putting the rubbish out is so much easier, it got dark a bit later too last night

We have been busy since Christmas and finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel of mess and distruption
We have now got our new (ish) car at last. We have been without a car since last week as the MOT ran out on both the old ones within a week and it wasn't worth getting them done for just a few days. At least it has made the transition of going from 2 cars down to one a bit easier as we feel its a luxury having having one at all after the past week ! hurrah

On top of that we deceided to get some new furniture for Miss V's bedroom. She has got some much stuff we ordered a tall bookcase , a chest of drawers and a bedside table with drawers in. It's only Argos flat pack but it looks so much better being white and pink. Up until now she has had a miss match of brown things from previous houses. Still got the pine wardrobes but they are decent ones.
Poor Mr V has been on his hands and knees putting it all together !
So that prompted a huge clear out of her belongings so not being able to get to the tip and charity shop we have been drowning in stuff everywhere
Anyway - we are getting sorted a bit now

I am gradually getting back into my beloved Ebay selling and have listed lots of Miss V's books along with some vintagy things if you are interested you can hopefully find me here

This one is a Welsh wool tea cosy if you were wondering !

Lots more to come

Well I better go and do some jobs around the house- the sunshine is great but it shows up the dust !

Back soon
Sue x

Ps I have been awarded the stylish blogger award by Dosie Rosie - thank you so much
I will hopefully sort that out very soon when I have thought what to write.......

  3. Oooh! I remember the joy of buying a whole packet of typewriting paper to draw on when I was a child ... I've been a keen fan of stationery ever since!
