Hi Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Sue and I live with my lovely husband who I will call Mr V and our nine year old daughter Miss V in a small town in South Devon. Everyone who lives here talks about it as The Village so that will be my blog name- Vintage fron the Village Also in our family are two cats, two guinea pigs some tropical fish and a pond with goldfish I have always loved making things and love pretty vintage things which I hope to sell as well to fund my passion! I am addicted to buying fabric, ribbons, buttons, wool etc and love to visit charity shops and car boot sales.I love glasses of wine, gardening, crochet (easy stuff!) and I am a big E-Bay fan ! I also love to read other people's blogs which inspired me to start my own. I look foward to hearing from you Best wishes Sue

Birthday Weekend

Hi  all, I hope you had a good weekend.  On Saturday I went with one of my sisters to the quilting show at The Westpoint Showground near Exeter. I havn't been to this show before as I dont do quilting (sister does) but I do make lots of things from pretty fabrics. I was pleasantly surprised, I always try and go the Creative Stitches and craft supplies fairs there but being just fabric and I suppose more of a limited audience it was a pleasure to look around and you could actually get to the stands and have good look instead of pushing your arm through the crowd and hoping for the best !

Here are some of the fabrics I bought, the roll has I think 20 squares od the most lovely vintage inspired patterns
Later that day Miss V had to shows to do with the Beavers group so quite a bit of running around to do but great fun
Yesterday it was my birthday - nice cup of tea in bed with Mr V and Miss V while I opened all my lovely cards and presents.
Mum in law always buys me a suprise from Cath Kidston - this year it was the lovely sewing basket and knitting bag - perfect !
In previous years I have had the CK Roberts Digital radio and the red spotty suitcase !
My other sister gave me these lovely Laura Ashley storage baskets, I expect I will use them for fabric
I also had these great books and many other lovely things - thank you
Well I had better get on with some sewing or the day will be gone. Going to visit a friend's new baby boy when Miss V comes home from school - lovely
Back soon  Sue x
