Hi Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Sue and I live with my lovely husband who I will call Mr V and our nine year old daughter Miss V in a small town in South Devon. Everyone who lives here talks about it as The Village so that will be my blog name- Vintage fron the Village Also in our family are two cats, two guinea pigs some tropical fish and a pond with goldfish I have always loved making things and love pretty vintage things which I hope to sell as well to fund my passion! I am addicted to buying fabric, ribbons, buttons, wool etc and love to visit charity shops and car boot sales.I love glasses of wine, gardening, crochet (easy stuff!) and I am a big E-Bay fan ! I also love to read other people's blogs which inspired me to start my own. I look foward to hearing from you Best wishes Sue

Back again, I had a bit more luck with uploading the photos today

Anyway, spring seems to have sprung here in Devon. My daffodils have been out for about two weeks now and still going strong. The chickens dont seem to touch them for some reason which is great !

Below is the lovely modern but vintage looking wire holder full of pots, I forgot to take a pic while it was looking its best full of snowdrops and crocuses but hopefully you get the idea ?
I think I might put herbs in for the summer to brighten up my cheapo plastic green garden table.

Also last week I bought two posh looking brown paper bags with seeds compost and pots in ..
only £1 each from our weekly market (which is rubbish really and only has about six stalls)
Bargain I think, they have now been planted up  tomatoes and courgettes. So watch this space.
I just stayed on after my little school job today to help the children plant pots of runner beans and sunflowers so I'm having a very green fingered week.

I must go now and collect Miss V
I will be back soon to tell you about my luck as the winner of a giveaway from the lovely
Gemma at Dreams of a life in the country

Have a great evening

Sue x

  1. I love the idea of those bags with seeds in -- what a super present it would make. Lovely here in South Devon isnt it x

  2. Sounds like your veggie garden is going to lovely!! I think your chickens are smart... aren't daffodils poisonous? Beautiful to look at for sure, but not good to eat.
